Manager on Friday

27/02/10 - JM: "We have managed to get results against them, they are always hard games and I think James (Grady) has done well there.

Jim McIntyre knows that the weather might well prevent Saturday's match in Greenock from taking place but nevertheless he and his team will be preparing properly:-

"There will be a pitch inspection at Greenock tomorrow morning. The game is doubtful, they have had frost, then snow and then rain on top of that so we will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings."

Morton is the only team, apart from Airdrie United who we have only played once, that Dunfermline have taken full points from. The Manager didn't want to curse the attempt to win three in a row over the 'Ton.

"We have managed to get results against them, they are always hard games and I think James (Grady) has done well there. He is come into the job in a similar way to myself here and he is having to make changes. He had a great result down at Queen of the South, they played well especially in the first half and deserved to win the game.

"Morton players are all big, athletic and strong but by all accounts James is trying to get them to pass the ball more."

Reflecting on last Saturday Macca said "that's gone and there is nothing we can do about it. All we can do is make sure that it doesn't happen again. I have got to say that we haven't played that poorly in a long time so we are hoping that it is a one off."

Disappointment was high given that the performance the week before in Dingwall had been at the other end of the spectrum:-

"We had loads of crosses where the final ball was poor, we had 14 corners to their two but our end product just wasn't good enough. The game just frittered out."

There could be changes since Nick Phinn has recovered from his ankle knock in the Ayr United match and Andy Kirk is fit again meaning that he will leave after the Morton match to join the Northern Ireland squad to travel to Albania for an international friendly in Tirana on 3rd March.

"It is great for the club, it is great for Andy that he has been chosen for his country and we are pleased about that.

"I thought Ross Campbell looked quite sharp when he came on. He has not played for a wee while but I think he will be a good addition."
