17/01/11: JM - "We were really disappointed not to go in ahead at half time because I felt our

Dunfermline v Dundee

Jim McIntyre felt his team dominated the first half:-

"We should have scored, we had a couple of near misses and the keeper made a couple of good saves. We were really disappointed not to go in ahead at half time because I felt our play merited it.

"In the second half I was more disappointed against the ten men that we didn't move the ball quick enough. We were a bit pedestrian in our play and were better when it was eleven v eleven than we were with the extra man."

As the clock ran down the crowd grew more frustrated and the Manager explained his feelings were running that way too.

" I was getting impatient with my centre backs because I thought they were taking too long to do things. I wanted them to come forward. When you are only up against the one striker I wanted them to commit and basically get the full backs playing as wingers with your wide men coming inside. They did not move it quick enough; they were great defensively, they did their job that way but on the ball when you have an extra man you really need to go and commit people."

After Nick Phinn rolled his ankle in training on Friday  so Macca handed Ryan Thomson his first league start. he praised the 19 year old's contribution:-

"I am very pleased; he did exceptionally well. He made some great runs especially when the strikers were coming short and he was trying to get in behind. He was unlucky with the one he got through and Douglas saved with his feet. He acquitted himself well and did not look out of place."

Rab Douglas and Andy Kirk

Dundee Manager Barry Smith described the draw as a "brilliant result".

"For the boys to respond the way they did especially in the second half when we went down to ten men. We lost a player (Matt Lockwood) to illness before the match and I cannot praise their performance enough.

Pars Lotto

"They fought their corner and that shows the team spirit that is in there. It is just incredible."
