14/01/12: JM - "Obviously it is not the result we wanted and we are disappointed about that but if we serve up that every week we will be fine."

Jim McIntyre v Hibs

Jim McIntyre
thought that his team started the game with a "never say die attitude" and showed great commitment:-

"We came back into it after losing the goal (to go 2-1 down) and had a good chance to score ourselves. It was end to end and I thought it was a fabulous game of football for the neutral. I cannot fault any of them; the substitutes who came on were excellent. Obviously it is not the result we wanted and we are disappointed about that but if we serve up that every week we will be fine."

The gaffer was disappointed to concede what ended up being the winning goal so soon after equalising:-

"You are at your most vulnerable when you have just scored a goal and it was never truer there. You have to credit the lad for the turn and finish. obviously we can do better from our point of view but as I say there are lots and lots of positives to take from today. We didn't have a failure in the side.

"We created chances; the one that Liam Buchanan shot across when the bounce fell for them was good defending. We had a man coming in and it bounced on the other side; these are the wee bits of luck that you need as well."

The Pars boss admitted that he will be trying to add to his squad during the transfer window and was delighted with the debut of his new goalkeeper on loan from Preston North End:-

"I thought he was excellent; he came for a couple of crosses that he clutched out of the air and pulled off a couple of great saves as well. I was really pleased."

The third goal had been a bit unfortunate for the new man:-

"He got a hand to it and it went underneath him but I thought he had a fabulous game.

"We are looking forward to the game in midweek. We are expecting another hard game against Inverness; it is never easy - we have shared three draws against them this season so it will be another hard game but we will take the positives from today and look forward to the game."

Dunfermline v Hibs

Hibs manager Pat Fenlon was pleased with his team's result:-

"In the last two weeks we have shown real character. Last week was a difficult venue for us to go and this was no different. When we went a goal ahead I thought that we could maybe hang on but we conceded again and showed great character to go up the park and score again.

"I am pleased for the players, they have shown real desire for the football club and that's what we are looking for.

"It puts a bit of a gap between ourselves and them, not too much but it gives the players confidence going into some big games coming up. We have won a couple of games on the bounce and scored a few goals but we need to do better defensively. We have a bit of work to do."
