15/12/18: AJ - need to find a way to score that first goal

Addressing the press after the 0-0 draw with Queen of the South, Manager Allan Johnston said:-

"I think it`s a case of two points dropped as we had most possession probably most shots on target, but we just could not find that goal. It is probably been the story of our season so far

"I don`t think it is down to confidence, sometimes you just need a wee bit of luck sometimes to go your way and maybe we are snatching at things when it is not on.

"It is not as if the players are playing with a lack of confidence otherwise they would not want the ball in the first place. But they are dominating possession, they are creating chances and at this moment in time we are not taking them.”

Conditisons didn`t help either?

"No but if they keep playing the way they are playing then the results will turn. In a lot of games this season it has been very similar where teams sit in and try to frustrate us and his us on the counter attack.

"We just need to find a way of breaking teams down, getting that first goal and then they have to come out and try and attack you."

Summer football? "When you look at it like that (buses cancelled, freezing conditions, weather warnings) and bringing your kids to a game on a day like this then it is difficult isn`t it?

"But you just don;`t know what the weather is going to be like in Scotand. We don`t get great weather the whole year, but playing in conditions lilke that it is very difficult for the players.”

The attendance was 727 and the Pars boss praised the 74 away supporters

"But credit to the fans who turned up because it`s horrible conditions and I thought our team played really well. We did our best considering the conditions and were unlucky not to get the three points."

“Credit to the fans who turned up because it was horrible conditions."

Queen of the South manager Gary Naysmith said:-

"If I`m being honest I think Dunfermline were slightly the better team. Alan Martin made quite a few saves which you would expect him to make but we still needed him to make them, but we didn`t really trouble them at the other end.

"Overall I`ve got to say well done to the players for grinding us out a result when we weren`t at our best."
