13/04/21: Link to audio of both managers’ post match interviews

- - Listen to this Stevie Crawford interview

Pars boss Stevie Crawford felt that his team had a number of chances in the first half that they were unlucky with:-

“We probably didn’t defend as well as we should have in the first half. In the second half I felt that we defended better but we were limited to chances in front of goal. We had a couple of chances in the second half for Dom Thomas and Ewan Henderson.

“In a game that we wanted to win tonight, we have come away with a point against a team that has been free flowing and scoring goals.it is a point that we have to take, we wanted more than that and we look forward to Saturday now.”

Is it important that Dundee have not gone further away from you?

“It is not about focusing on Dundee, it is focusing on ourselves. We have got to win games of football, we have three massive games coming up now. There were opportunities tonight to score goals but we find ourselves in a situation now that is outwith our hands for the first time this season.

“There are going to be twists and turns in other places so, the positive is the clean sheet but there is disappointment that we did not take three points tonight.”

Have you set yourself any targets for the last three games?

“Since the Raith Rovers game I have seen a reaction from the players that we have no5 seen in terms of the results. Against Hearts we could have picked up all three. We went down to a hard place at the weekend in Ayr and took a point. We were disappointed collectively with the goal that we lost.

“Tonight we have come up against a team that is on a good run of form. That is where we find ourselves at. I don’t want to set any targets other than we need to win games of football. There are Tyree massive games coming up now and we will do our best to win all three.”

What can you say to the fans who will have been watching to reassure them that with three games to go that you can find the winning formula again?

“We got off to a really good start and there wasn’t much in those games. Equally there has not been much in the games that we have lost. Our Achilles heel has probably been our away form but we can’t change that. We have to try and do better but we have two home games coming up, our home form has been decent.

“I was confident tonight coming into the game that we could win the game against Dundee. We weren’t going in to it to try and take a point. It is just a wee bit of belief, a wee bit of confidence that we get back to winning ways. As I say we can’t look any further ahead than Queen of the South on Saturday.”
