The Pars gaffer Stevie Crawford was bitterly disappointed with the 1-0 home defeat to Falkirk. He said:-

”We created more than enough chances to win a game of football. It is done, we never got carried away when we were winning games on that run, equally you can`t be too disappointed. We take it on the chin, think about it over the weekend and come in on Monday raring to go for next week.”

Even with the number of chances created Stevie would not concede that was good enough:-

”Listen if I turn round and say that I am satisfied getting beat 1-0 from Falkirk, I shouldn`t be in the job. What I will say is, the performance and the opportunities we had were enough to win a game of football.

”We had more possession, more efforts at goal but you do not win games of football like that. I have got to express that I am disappointed, the players are disappointed that we never took three points from today’s game.

”We are in a situation where we still have everything to play for. Dunfermline Football Club should be up there challenging for promotion from the Championship. You are not given any divine right but I think that we can all say they way teams are in the Championship this year, it is a very close league.

”We have three big games coming up, but they are three games that we are capable of winning.”

Stevie felt that the big difference required was simply putting the ball in the back of the net.

”Seriously at Partick Thistle last week, it was 2-0 and they came back to 2-2 but we still had chances in the game. We went up to Ross Country through the week and when we were on top we didn`t manage to score. It is a very cruel game at times.

”Probably when we were on that run of (winning) games we were criticised for not creating enough chances but at the moment we arm to be getting punished the other way. We have to keep level headed, not get carried away or too down and make sure that we stick together to get enough points on the board to finish the season off.”

The manager had not had a chance to speak to midfielder Tom Beadling who was forced off with an injury in the first half but continued:-

”It wasn`t through lack of effort from the players today. I was disappointed and I think everyone saw or heard my reaction after the Ayr United game but I cannot be critical of the boys in terms of what they gave me on the pitch today.

”The one thing is that we are all hurting, we are all disappointed and it is a sore one for the supporters to take.”
