Pars boss Stevie Crawford felt that Queen of the South changed their shape to play against Dunfermline and that caused them difficulties. He told the media in his post match comments:-

“We watched them last week and they played with three at the back but they changed that today and they caused us bother with Iain Wilson particularly good. We had to tweak it a bit but it still wasn’t right and then we changed it to a 4-3-3 and thought we then got a foothold on the game without carving out too many clear cut chances.

“There wasn’t much in the game but the disappointing thing was losing a goal just before half time and the manner in which we lost it. That was very disappointing. You get a chance to regroup at half time to try address certain issues but we didn’t give ourselves a chance with letting them score so early in the second half. In that respect it was a disappointing afternoon.

“The two goals could have been prevented. I am very disappointed with them. Queens were fighting for their lives and I said to the boys before the game, ‘yes we are outside the play off positions now but for a club like Dunfermline let’s make sure that we get fifth place.’

“We are getting tested at the moment. We lost James Vincent after training yesterday afternoon on top of losing Tom Beadling and Danny Devine last week and Joe Thomson with a cruciate. We are getting pushed but we need to respond to that because we have a big one against Morton next week.”

Queen of the South Manager Gary Naysmith elected to let his assistant Laurie Ellis address the press. He said:-

“It was a very hard working performance, we expect that from them but with the run of games that we have had and the size of squad that we have got, I think one of the most pleasing things was the application they showed from the first minute to the end of the game.”
