Moff laments missing two last minute penalties

Although he would have loved it to have been his first Dunfermline hattrick Michael Moffat dedicated his double against Forfar to his fiancé Megan who recently lost her uncle. Michael missed the Pars match at Cowdenbeath as a result of the bereavement and the funeral was only held on Thursday of this week in Mauchline.
Michael netted in 30th and 60th minutes of Saturday's match and only missed out on the third by missing a twice taken 91st minute penalty.
"I think I have only missed one penalty in my whole career and even then scored on the rebound so it doesn't really count. I don't know what I did, it is not like me, I usually wait to see the keeper moving and put it the other way. I just got underneath the first one but to be fair the boys said the everybody was right beside me when it happened.
"To get another shot at it and miss again was obviously disappointing because it was the last kick of the ball and I was on a hattrick. It is just one of those things. I got three when I ways at Ayr United but it would be nice to get another one. Two goals are good but obviously disappointing when you have a chance to get a hattrick.
"We had a lot of chances and I think we deserved the win but Forfar were dangerous on the break and they are fighting for their lives. That makes them dangerous and they have changed a lot from the last time we played them. The boys upfront do well for them and they created a lot of chances as well to be fair. If they keep playing that way they will be alright.
"Obviously in the circumstances with the way the game ended there is disappointment because you have such a good chance to win the game. I think the manager was disappointed with the way we let the goals in and we missed some chances as well. Up until that we were playing well but just couldn't get the winning goal."
Michael agreed that to twice come from behind showed the character in the team and he added:-
"Whoever is playing in the team we know attacking wise that we have a threat and we are always going to create chances. We knew not to panic, we knew that we would get plenty of chances. We got level and went behind again but had the opportunity to get the winner. I don't know what happened but it was a bad miss."
After the penalty was awarded Thomas O'Brien was yellow carded for the challenge that led to the spot kick but was then shown a second yellow for pushing referee Craig Charleston. After the first penalty was taken more protests from the Loons meant that right back Martin was shown yellow. Michael added:-
"There was a lot of waiting in between but I should have composed myself better and put it in. The second one hit the post but the first one went over the roof. It is not like me and I don't know if I will be allowed to take the next one. I will put myself available when the next one comes up but I might get overruled."
Michael's second goal was a tap in but his first was well executed:-
"It was a good move, Ryan clipped it over and I just nipped in between the last defender and put it away before the goalkeeper could come out. I was pleased with that and that's me got fifteen. Hopefully I can get a few more between now and the end of the season if I am playing.
"The manager says that he is going to keep changing it and give boys a shot. Hopefully I will be in the team next week. We want to keep winning games to keep the momentum going."
The 31 year old striker is out of contract at the end of the season. He revealed that the manager had spoken to most of his players briefly saying:-
"I would love to stay but it is up to the manager at the end of the day. Hopefully I have done enough through the season to get another contract."
