Myles better wanted by striker

Frustrated by referee, lack of goals, lack of victories and by losing final home match

Myles Hippolyte was blamed for a push that gave Morton the chance to score an 84th minute penalty. The 24 year old Londoner was adamant that he never fouled Morton’s Greg Kilty as he rose to try and head home Michael Tidser’s cross.

“I thought there was no chance of the game going to Morton but to get a penalty like that. We have watched back the clips and it is embarrassing to be honest.”

There was no huge appeal about the penalty decision but Myles explained why:-

“I was more shocked that anything. He (Greg Kilty) has jumped and completely missed the ball. I just happened to be behind him and the referee thought it looked like I pushed him. It put a dampener on the day.

“Not to get the win is just frustrating, that is all I can say. I thought we played well, I thought we dominated the game. I could have done better with my finishing at times but we were creating a lot of chances and had the momentum going forward.”

The Pars had lost their previous three home games and the last home game of the season was one that management, players and fans dearly wanted to win. Myles continued:-

“It would have been lovely to win but we go again next week. The boys are always raring to go for every game. It is frustrating for some boys who might not be here next year to lose the last home game.”

Despite defeat Dunfermline’s Championship status was confirmed due to results elsewhere, Myles added:-

“At the end of the day we are safe but none of want to worry about what the other teams are doing. It is up to us to do a job here. It hasn’t gone our way and all I can say that all the boys are frustrated.”

Myles had numerous attempts in the first half but none to rest Morton keeper Robby McCrorie. His Dunfermline career got off to a great start with four goals in his first four starts in the Betfred Cup but Myles has only two league goals, both against his former club, Falkirk. He signed off:-

“I am an honest man to realise when I haven’t scored as much as I should have. I have not done as much attacking as I wanted to this season.”
