Nick Phinn Post Dundee

Saturday, 8th Nov 2008

"Another defeat at home is not great. We were hoping to pick up the three home points and we need to start picking up more points here.

Nick Phinn v Dundee

Nick Phinn lamented the defeat at the hands of Dundee that meant the Pars fell another three points behind league leaders St Johnstone:-

"Another defeat at home is not great. We were hoping to pick up the three home points and we need to start picking up more points here.

"We were pushing for the winner. At nothing each we felt we had as good a chance, if not better than them. We maybe got caught out a bit and Antoine-Curier just sneaked in at the back. It was disappointing to lose a goal like that."

Disappointing in as much as Dunfermline had good first half chances to grab the lead that just wasn't to happen. Dundee keeper Rab Douglas had just one telling save to make in the whole match. Nick recalled the same could be said for Paul Gallacher:-

"It was not even a half chance Glass's first one that hit the crossbar he created out of nothing, the second one he caught the volley really well and on another day it might have gone in. Calum Woods hit the post; we had our chances but they weren't really clear cut.

"They got the goal and maybe sat back to protect their lead. We went looking for an equaliser, pressed really hard but that just wasn't to be."

Dunfermline v Dundee

"There is a long way to go and so many games to play but we just have to get back on to the winning trail." Nick added that he'd like to get on the scoresheet when the next opportunity to collect points comes along next Saturday at Livingston:-

"It will be a tough game going there but we will just need to keep the heads up and try and put today at the back of our minds. At the start of the season I was getting a lot more goals but I got one through the week at Airdrie so hopefully I can continue to get some more goals."
