Man of the Match refuses to celebrate anything.

Nick Phinn heads on to crossbar 21/02/09
Nick heads on to crossbar at start of second half

Nick Phinn was Man of the Match on Saturday but rarely can someone look so disappointed at being presented an award. He talked after the game against Ross County:-

"It is terrible. The result is disappointing again. It was another chance to end our bad run at home but we have not taken it. The boys are very disappointed.

"I heard St Johnstone ended up drawing three each and again, it's the same, we had the chance. We can't keep looking at what they are doing, we have to get our own home record back on track. The quicker we do that the better."

Nick came close to adding to his eight goal tally for the season, a record that has established him as the Pars second top goalscorer:-

"Right at the start of the second half I got my head on it and it came off the underside of the bar. It was just unlucky for us that it didn't fall for any of our boys. Maybe on another day it would have."

Luck was certainly against the Pars but Nick didn't know what it was going to take to alter this poor home record.

"Obviously it has got to come sooner or later. It is really disappointing that it has gone on for so long. Nobody can put their finger on it, we just need something to go for us."

Pressure from the fans would not be used as an excuse:-

"Not really, we don't take that into consideration. We approach games like any game, away games as well we just haven't been getting the results that we have been getting away from home. It is frustrating."

The call up to the Scottish U21 training squad was a welcome break from the First Division promotion battle for the 20 year old from Glasgow:-

"It was good seeing the set up they have got. They have games coming up so I would hope to be involved and play a part in it. The Manager has said that I should keep doing what I have been doing and hopefully I will get the reward."
