Pre Season Day 2 Update – Rosyth and new Goalkeeping Coach
Tuesday, 14th Jun 2022The Dunfermline Athletic squad returned to grass this morning as pre-season training intensified.
Despite ongoing efforts by the ground staff at the Club, the grass pitches at Rosyth still require further work to be ready for James McPake’s first team squad. Therefore, the players were put through their paces in the familiar surroundings of McKane Park.
Chairman and CEO David Cook commented: “Like lot of construction and development projects happening right now, we`re a little bit behind where we hoped to be with Rosyth. As a result, short term, we felt it prudent to stick to a surface we know well at McKane Park. I`d like to thank the committee at McKane for allowing us to use their facilities in the short term. As we continue to enhance the pitches at Rosyth, our intention is for the Academy to start their pre-season from our new base in July.”
Another new face at training today was goalkeeping coach Alan Main. A well know face within Scottish football, Alan played in excess of 500 professional games including over 300 for St Johnstone earning him a testimonial match against Manchester United for the Perth club.
Alan, who worked with James McPake at Livingston, took training with Deniz and Calum this morning.
