The last time these teams met on league duty was on 7th April 2007.  The Pars were fighting for their SPL survival and Hibs had their eye on the Scottish Cup Semi Final against the Pars the following week at Hampden. A 1-0 win kept up Stephen Kenny`s side hopes and of course the Fifers went on to win through to the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic after beating Hibs with a Jim McIntyre penalty in a replay.

Hibernian Home Milestones

The win in April 2007 ended a run of over five years since Dunfermline recorded an SPL win over Hibs at East End Park. After the Edinburgh side smashed their thirteen year gap without a win with their 4-1 victory back in March 2005, they continued that winning habit. The penultimate meeting of the clubs at East End Park was Jim Leishman`s final match in charge, Jim threw in the towel after the 4-0 Monday night defeat on 23rd October 2006.

Hibs bottom of the SPL with just four points.  Three won at Inverness and then another on Sunday from their home match against Aberdeen. The Pars are better off but have taken nothing from their last two league matches.

After losing only one home match last season in the First Division, hopes of making East End Park a fortress were dented when Motherwell were the visitors last time around. Indeed the Pars are still in search of their first home win of the season. Hibs have already registered an away win but their form is not good.
