Preview Motherwell
Friday, 4th May 2007The Pars have not beaten Motherwell at East End Park since Jimmy Calderwood left and have only two wins in the last 12 SPL meetings.
Motherwell are the visitors on 757 but Dunfermline will be the ones looking to take off with three points from this game. The jet of a date comes with the mandatory warnings to fasten your seat belts and be aware where to get oxygen as Dunfermline seek clearance for another step towards the emergency door that would lead to continued presence in the SPL.
When Motherwell visited back on Boxing Day, the match against eleventh placed Motherwell was described as being of extreme importance. Motherwell won 2-0 to take the full points and the Pars became rooted to the foot of the table. Indeed they have been in 12th position ever since 4th November and yet with the result at St Mirren behind them they can now see that there is a real chance to avoid the drop.

With St Mirren`s win at Tannadice on Saturday, Motherwell can still be relegated but it would take them to pick up no more points and Dunfermline to win all their remaining matches. So it could be that Motherwell on 37 points will be out to assure their SPL place by getting at least a draw. The Pars sit on 29 points, four behind St Mirren who have played one match more.

Motherwell face their fourth away game in their last five SPL matches. They will be keen to take something away from Dunfermline so that it prevents the Pars closing in on them and also because, although their next two SPL matches are at home they are against Celtic and then Rangers.
