Pars new signing has been asking where Albion Rovers play?

Scott Robinson knew the way to Hampden to sign the amateur papers that allowed him to join Dunfermline Athletic but venues in League One are going to be a new experience for the former Hearts and Kilmarnock player who has thus far, played all his football in the top two divisions.

The latest Pars signing spoke exclusively to this website:-

"I left Kilmarnock through mutual consent, both parties were happy. The manager that signed me (Gary Locke) unfortunately got the sack which is really unfortunate for him and it turned out that I wasn't wanted there either!

"I had a great opportunity to come here. It seems like a really good club and I am looking forward to it. Training has been great, I have loved every minute of it. I am thankful to the manager for letting me come in in the first place because I was just sitting at home getting bored without a club.

"All the boys have made me very welcome and as you can imagine there has been a buzz about the place with winning the league as well. It feels like a very good club."

The 24 year old explained how he had to be an amateur before he could sign at Dunfermline:-

"I had to go through to Hampden and re-register as an amateur just because of all the rules and regulations. I can only play now either League One or League Two, not any higher so I am just lucky that Dunfermline are still in League One just now. I am able to play a few games until the end of the season and get a few minutes under my belt.

"It gets me out there where people can see that I am fit enough to play but my main objective is to do well and stay here. I am not going to just go somewhere else after the manager has been good enough to let me come here. If a contract is here to sign I will be more than happy to sign it.

"I have always viewed Dunfermline as one of the top clubs in Scotland. Look at the fan base, there was close to 5000 here on Saturday and for a game in League One is really good. I don't think Kilmarnock has reached that this season apart from the Rangers game in the cup.

"You can see that the potential is there and the fan base is there. I am sure that if the club keeps going in the way that it is going it can only be good."

Scott clarified his playing position and preference:-

"I play midfield but like to be more attacking. I can also play the defensive role but I like to be the attacking midfielder. I have no preference, more or less central but wherever the manager needs me I can fill in."

While playing as a trialist in the U20s Development League win over Hamilton, Scott got off the mark from the penalty spot. He continued::-

"It was good to get the opportunity to take it. Young PJ won the penalty but said that he did not want to take it because he missed one against Aberdeen. I was more than happy to take it on my first game and get a goal."

Asked if he thought that Dunfermline could compete in the Championship, the new boy was optimistic for their chances:-

"As long as the manager can keep everybody together it seems like a really good group. If you want to go and challenge in the Championship it is important to keep everyone together. I am sure that he will be able to do that, I am sure that everyone will be more than happy to stay. I would anyway knowing that a club like Dunfermline is now in the Championship. It will be a really competitive league next year no matter who gets relegated from the Premier League especially if Hibs and Falkirk stay in that league."

Do you consider this a step down?

"No, not all. If you look at the size of club. I am really impressed with the facilities and maybe if I was playing in League One every week then it would maybe take a while to get used to but that is not going to be the case because the club is promoted. It will definitely not be a step down in that Championship. Every club plays at a high level, they are full time."

Scott is available for selection against Albion Rovers adding

"I don't know where it is. I have just heard stories that sound like it is an eye opener. No disrespect to them, it will be different from where I have played before. Hopefully I will get a run out but it is just good to be involved again."
