Scott Wilson Post Semi Final

Monday, 16th Apr 2007

"I was a wee bit twinkle toes at the start because I've not played for a month.......

"The most important thing was us to win the game today. We had enough chances to win the game in the end but they are probably feeling the same way. In the end I think a draw was a fair result but a couple of good chances, the one from Gary and the one that was a double save at the start if that goes in I think we would have been quite comfortable at that point, but its not to be.

"I never knew I was a booking away until I saw it in the back of the programme. I read it in the dressingroom and I was a wee bit twinkle toes at the start because I've not played for a month and I've only trained three times or so.  I was just trying to ease myself in into the first half I was breathing out of my behind for about 20 minutes but the inevitable happened to be fair Fletcher done well but just take it on the chin.

"I knew as soon as I did it but the thing was he went down clutching his face and I thought what is he holding his face for but when he came back on he had a big cut and it was the linesman's heel that had caught him.  I think the linesman should have got booked.

"If the boys get to the final its turned out well for me but if the don't then its got to be disappointing.I've got to be a bit aggrieved with myself but the main thing is that if they get to the final.

"The last time that we were in Europe we let ourselves down badly so it would be good to get back into Europe and prove that we aren't a bad side.At the end of the day this is like a wee holiday for us at the minute, the game next week is a much bigger game than this has been today for us. I think now the main focus for us is next Saturday.

"At the end of the day we are not interested in what is going on at Hibs, it is all about us.We're actually playing not bad and if we had played like this at the start of the season we would not be in the position we are in but typical Dunfermline leaving it to the last ditch again, but we'll see.

"Bamba has been tremendous since he came back in, I think going away and playing International duty for the Ivory Coast has done him a world of good. Playing with guys like Toure and Drogba has done him a world of good. When he first came in I thought the boy has got the potential to be a right good player here. The last two games he has been out of this world and if he plays like that he won't be here much longer because he's got everything.

"I thought Sheildsie had a great game today and Scott Muirhead especially, I mean this guy's a left winger and he's come in and played against Sproule and stuck to his task. Sproule beat him a couple of times but I felt in general he got the better of him. It's guys like that we need, with fighting spirit."
