Michal Hrivnak says playing Celtic is no big deal

Michael Hrivnak

Apart from two first team games in January Slovakian goalkeeper Michal Hrivnak's experience of football in Scotland was, until administration, been wholly in the Dunfermline Athletic Under 20s team. The 22 year old has played most of the season behind a team that is the basis of the side that will face Celtic on Wednesday night.

Fielded as an over age player Michal faced Celtic U20s at Firhill earlier this season and then the first half of the return at East End Park in February. He is happy now to be the first team regular and not concerned that 19 year old Ryan Goodfellow will be between the sticks.

"I am not disappointed at missing this game. I will travel through to watch at Hampden and I hope they win. It is not a big deal playing against Celtic. It is just the same as we played against Celtic before. The players just need to play normal without nerves, it is just a game like any other game.

"Celtic are also a big team for me but I have actually already played against Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan. For me they are a big club but I would not be nervous if I had to play against them again."

Michal who played in first and second leagues in Italy would like to remain at Dunfermline for next season but with his contract up at the end of this season he will have to wait and see what happens next at the Club. He added:-

"Italian football is famous but the Scottish First Division is good. My only problem in Scotland is the lack of sun and lack of heat."
