Allan Smith scored his first ever senior goal in the First Division Semi Final Play off and celebrated the win with the rest of his team mates but he knew that the job of preserving Dunfermline's place in the second flight of Scottish football is only half done:-

"We still have another two big games to go. We will have to get rested up and ready to go on Wednesday."

It was an eventful day for the 19 year old who was making his eleventh first team appearance. He was taken down by Mark McCulloch in 15 minutes, and that earned Dunfermline a penalty and the Forfar captain a red card. Although Stephen Husband was to miss the spot kick, Allan was instrumental in getting Dunfermline back on level terms in 36 minutes when his cross was deflected past Forfar keeper Daren Hill just nine minutes from the interval.

Then in 12th minute of extra time Allan struck a shot from 20 yards out that beat Hill and put Dunfermline in the driving seat. His goal is a real morale booster for the Selkirk youngster who admitted things had got extremely hard for him:-

"I travel from the Borders and have not been getting any travelling expenses. My dad (Graham) is doing extra work driving lorries at night and the weekends to give me all his wages to get in. It has not been great but we are hoping it will get better in future.

Allan had his preparations for the big match interrupted at three in the morning to pick up his nanna from the hospital as his 69 year old grandad, Paddy, is really ill.

"My first goal is for him!" Lets hope there is plenty more.
