Sons make Husband hurt

Sunday, 24th Mar 2013

"It doesn't make sense to me, I have known Dunfermline for a lot of years now and it is unthinkable that they wouldn't exist.

Stephen Husband v Dumbarton

Stephen Husband felt that errors all over the pitch cost Dunfermline the game, especially after taking a 3-1 lead.

"It was not good enough by our standards. We are going out to win games and nothing has changed on that front. You ignore the off field things when you step over that white line unfortunately we didn't do the right stuff and it is cost us goals.

"It was important after you score a goal to keep it tight, settle down and enjoy your goal but Dumbarton got straight back into it with a goal and put the pressure right back on us. They managed to get another goal and we were just not good enough."

Stephen claimed that the players have been good in training and that performances have been good in recent weeks:-

"We have just been unlucky to leak goals. It hurts to lose four goals in a game at home, that's not good enough and we know that ourselves. We have to move on to the next game now and try and put that one behind us even though it still hurts."

Pars fans

Ignoring suggestions that Dunfermline Athletic Football Club may have played there last game, Stephen continued:-

"We have a game on Wednesday, we will shape up and train on Monday. If that game doesn't go ahead then it doesn't, it is out of our hands. It doesn't make sense to me, I have known Dunfermline for a lot of years now and it is unthinkable that they wouldn't exist. Rangers have gone through the same thing but it is out of our hands and I just hope it gets sorted as quickly as possible."

But if it doesn't, Stephen has not made any contingency should he find himself without a club:-

"It is not something that I have particularly sorted out. We didn't know these sort of things until recently, it is what is on the field that matters and I really feel sorry for the fans that came today. We lost four goals and lost the game, it is quite poor."
