Survey Results – Fans Returning to Football

Tuesday, 22nd Dec 2020

Almost 1200 Pars fans shared their views on the Return to Football

Almost 1200 Pars fans responded to the recent survey, put together by the Pars Supporters’ Trust, asking how they feel about returning to watch the action from inside East End Park. It’s fair to say that the overwhelming majority would be happy to comply with anything that is asked of them to enable a safe return to spectating, whilst following government guidelines, when the time arrives.

The survey highlighted that:
97% would be happy to be temperature tested on arrival at the stadium
95% would be happy for their details to be used for track and trace purposes by Health Protection Scotland
98% would be happy to observe social distancing at all times
92% would be happy with an allocated arrival time
91% would be happy to sit in an allocated seat/stand
89% would wear a face covering at all times
92% would happily be instructed when to leave the stadium at the end of the match

Fans were also asked for their views on the provision of catering facilities, toilet facilities, buying tickets online, travelling to the game, vaccinations and the prospect of being separated from others in their household bubble.

Pars Supporters’ Trust Chair and DAFC Director, Drew Main, said “We would like to thank all those who took the time to participate and we’re delighted with the response. Whilst allowing fans back in to East End Park will very much be government led, we believe it’s important that we take into account the views of our supporters and the information we’ve gathered will help DAFC to properly prepare for the return of our fans and ensure everyone’s safety”.

Chairman Ross McArthur added “I am indebted to the PST for carrying out this research to assist our club. As a club we always go out of our way to give our loyal supporters a voice and with all the challenges associated with the pandemic, it is important that we were able to gauge their feelings in a number of key areas”.
