Jim Jefferies watched three unnamed trialists and Kevin Buchan in a friendly against a strong Rangers U20 line up at Murray Park on Tuesday afternoon.

The home side started well and Pars keeper Ryan Goodfellow had to pull off a good save in just two minutes. At the other end the Pars Trialist striker made Kelly work to keep him out in 10th minute.

Rangers passed off a chance three minutes later when a ricochet off Lewis Martin was turned over the crossbar but in the next minute the Gers went ahead after a forceful drive through the middle park by TELFER was punctuated with a shot that curled past Goodfellow.

Fayssal El Bakhtaoui almost converted a Scott Mercer free kick in from the left. Mercer and Buchan had attempts at goal and Goodfellow tipped a Ramsay shot on to his right hand post all before Dunfermline got back on level terms. It was 25th minute when a good move between Buchan and Mercer released SPENCE to advance on goal and stick the ball away to the keeper`s left.

Goodfellow blocked another shot in 54 minutes and the Pars created a good chance at the midway point with Mercer, Gray, Williamson and O `Kane combining well but the offside trap put paid to the ultimate chance.

A Mercer free kick from just outside the box was deflected for a corner in 73 minutes but the Pars were to get what was to prove the winner just two minutes later. Mercer`s delivery from a corner on the right was headed down by Gray and sub Gavin PATERSON managed to convert in the scramble for the ball.
