Dunfermline Athletic played a friendly against Rangers U19 s at Murray Park on Thursday afternoon. The Pars fielded five U17s and two trialists.
Norwegian Preben Erland started upfront alongside an unnamed Trialist who turned out to be the hero with two goals in the final ten minutes. Chances were even with Allan Smith getting two opportunities but was blocked and then off target.
Rangers went ahead in 42 minutes, working a route down the left to allow Darren RAMSAY netting with a shot that took a deflection to give Ryan Goodfellow little chance.
Half Time: Rangers 1 Dunfermline 0
The home side scored again just four minutes into the second half with the damage coming from the left side and RAMSAY found the net again albeit off the luckless Kerr Young.
Erland had a cross in 55 minutes that set up Declan O`Kane but his shot was blocked. The two corners that resulted yielded nothing. Rangers hit the crossbar before Trialist 2 was put through by Erland in 62 but that was saved by keeper Blair Currie.
Not significant but probably just unlucky for the Gers sub goal who replaced Currie in 79 minutes. TRIALIST 2 drilled the ball home in the next minute. The goal came from a Ross Drummond throw in that was fed to the goal scorer by Declan O`Kane.
The equaliser followed in 86 minutes when Lewis Martin headed on a long ball that TRIALIST 2 ran on to. He turned and ran to finish well.
