Wallace ready to battle

Friday, 30th Nov 2012

"If I get any chances on Saturday then I will be making sure that it gets tucked away."

Ryan Wallace

Pars striker, Ryan Wallace is adamant that he and his team mates are going into the Fourth Round tie in this season's William Hill Scottish Cup to win:-

"We have trained the same way as we have done every week and the same way as we go into a league game. Yes it would be good to beat them but the gaffer has been saying that it will be the shortest team talk he will have to do because the hurt is still there from the last time."

The 5-1 drubbing at Firhill was only three weeks ago and on and off the field everyone from West Fife would dearly like to get their own back. Ryan claimed that Saturday is not about revenge, it is all about getting through to the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup. He did recall the events of 10th November:-

"When we went 1-0 down we started playing. We got the ball down, started knocking it about and got back to one each. Obviously I had the chance to score and probably should have scored or even cut it back for one of the lads. That was maybe a turning point in the game because Partick got a lift. They went up the park and scored.

"Overall we didn't play well but if I had scored that goal then it might have changed the game completely. If I get any chances on Saturday then I will be making sure that it gets tucked away."

RYAN WALLACE v DUMBARTON

The 22 year old scored last Saturday in the home game against Dumbarton. That was from the penalty spot but how did Ryan take the kick when Stephen Husband and Andy Kirk were also on the pitch?

"Andy Barrowman was off the pitch and he is our preferred penalty taker now; I said before the game that if he wasn't on and we got one, I would take them. Hubby was on them until he missed one, Barrowman wasn't played so I got the chance to take it."

Ryan Wallace v Falkirk

Barrowman was rested by Jim Jefferies last week but is likely to return meaning Ryan will have to find the net from open play if he wants to help the club past Partick and into the hat where they would hope for a lucrative draw.

"We'd hope to beat Partick and maybe get a big crowd at home against a bigger club. To bring in necessary cash would be fantastic. Even if you go through to the next round there is still no guarantee of a big draw."
