Scott Morrison v Partick Thistle

Scott Morrison thought the Pars stopped playing and sat back after going ahead:-

"The last half hour was just tough. We were better for most of the game but they came back into it. I wouldn't say we've deserved it but we didn't help ourselves by sitting in and inviting the pressure in the last half hour really.

"When you go a goal up and then they get a goal back you think you will settle for a draw but they got that second goal out the blue and then we were struggling to get back into it. It was a deflection that just bounced over everyone's head and I don't know how the boy has managed to put the ball in from the touchline.

"Sometimes on a night like this goals like that decide the game. The pitch was really heavy, obviously it was wet before the game and the rain didn't stop during it.It was really quite tough to even kick the ball, never mind pass it or anything.  Just to stand up was difficult.

"We put a lot of effort into the first half, we had a lot of chances and could have scored a few goals. They got a bit of momentum when their subs changed the game a bit for them. They got a new lease of life in the last 15 minutes and they finished the stronger. They are used to playing on that pitch so maybe they are more suited to it."

How disappointing was that result?

"Some of the boys playing tonight didn't make the Cup Final last year but for the ones who made it, well for me anyway, it was the best footballing day of my life. The boys were definitely up for it no matter what the conditions were.I think we started really well.

"The last couple of games in the league when we started well we have gone 2 nil up, we did it at Livi and we did it at Stirling. Today it was as if because we didn't score these goals they only need to score one goal and they are right back in it. On Saturday there we were on top and missed a penalty, then they went and scored so it just shows you how much a goal can change the complexion of a game."

Is there much left to play for this season?

"I think all the boys have pride to play for after their start to the season. Obviously the fans were hurting, but the boys were hurting more than anything as its our reputations more than anything. The boys have got their reputations, pride, boys have got contracts to play for.

"There are a lot of games left, we can close the gap at the top of the table.  We slipped back down a wee bit with the defeat to St Johnstone but it doesn't take long just to bounce back up the table, so the boys have got everything to play for. We just need to pick ourselves up."
