I cannot believe it. We gifted Scott McDonald two goals and paid the price for that at the end of the day.

"I am disappointed with the second half performance. The first half we were doing alright, we were doing quite well. We were passing the ball well enough without creating many clear cut chances.  We played the better football in the first half with Stephen Glass quite influential for us.

"I just can't explain the goals that we conceded.  They were the poorest goals we have conceded in a long long time.  When I came in first we conceded a few goals in the first couple of games, our defending was poor.  We have worked a lot on our defending and it has been quite good but the two we conceded today were just awful goals.

"The second was just a  goalkeeper's kick that just went straight through the middle.  I cannot believe it. We gifted Scott McDonald two goals and paid the price for that at the end of the day.

"It was a penalty, I am not disputing the fact that it was a penalty.  You have to say, we gave them far too much space to get into the box in the first place.  We could have closed them down a lot earlier.

"From my point of view it is disappointing.  We prepared well but the contrast to Inverness last week where we showed high energy levels and we scored three goals in the second half while showing tremendous spirit.  When the second goal went in today it seemed to demoralise us somewhat.  That was disappointing."

Was that more so when the Falkirk v St Mirren result came through (2-0)?

"Well, it is better than hearing a different result. We are six points behind, it is not what others do you have to do it yourself. The game against St Mirren is a game that we have to win and win one or two others on the way as well.

"I wouldn't like to use suspensions and injuries as an excuse.  It is well documented Dunfermline's injury list in the last two or three years; we lost players but there is no point in making excuses. We still had a strong side out.  As I said, the first half we played alright, quite well - at half time I felt that we were doing alright.  We looked the more likely and it is difficult to explain the goals because they were uncharacteristic of recent times.

"They were easy, it wasn't that we were cut open, it was just bread and butter stuff really."
