Manager Allan Johnston was pleased to take a win away from the home match against Brechin City, he told the media:-

“You are always happy at this stage of the season when you come and get the three points. You can see how tight the league is and it was important that we didn’t slip up. These games are always difficult because you are expected to go and win against the bottom teams. In football it is not as easy as that.

“In the first half we had four or five really good chances, the keeper had a couple of great saves. Robbo pulled off a great save in the second half but we dominated the game and could have scored more goals.

“I thought some of the goals were outstanding. Fraser Aird’s bit of skill for his goal. He has run inside and finished it well. Andy Ryan’s header was on a great cross from Aird. It was a really good finish from Andy.

“We are playing with a lot of confidence just now. We are scoring goals, we are not conceding goals either and you can see the strength we have, Callum Morris came off before the game, he was feeling a wee strain so he came off and Jean came on. It just shows you the strength we have in depth.

“I missed out Lee Ashcroft, it was an amazing finish from him. He seems to be better now with the volleys than he is with his head. It was a good delivery again. He was on the end of it and when you see it again it was a good bit of movement and a really good finish.

“That is what we need, we are hitting a bit of momentum at the moment, playing with a lot of confidence and we just have to make sure that we go into next week and get the three points.”

The fixtures have set up a big match next Saturday at Inverness where a Pars win, albeit their first there since March 2007, would leave AJ’s side needing just one more point to ensure a play off place courtesy of their superior goal difference. He continued:-

“They are doing really well as well. They have a lot of games to catch up on which makes it difficult but we just have to focus on ourselves and we are more than capable of going there and getting a result.”

Callum Morris could be doubtful for the trip to the Highlands, the manager saying that he would just have to wait and see how it settles down.

“The last thing we want to do is take any chances but we have guys like Jean who can step in. Again I thought he was outstanding with Lee Ashcroft.

“We have to keep that momentum going, don’t get complacent and make sure that we get in that top four.”
