Jim Jefferies welcomes youth signings

Gavin Paterson (16) and Ryan Williamson (17) have signed two year contracts at the Club . These contracts run in conjunction with the SFA Modern Apprenticeship scheme which entails one day a week, normally a Wednesday at college or back at school for further education.

Both will train alongside the first team and work closely with the Manager, Neil McCann and John Potter. Both players have done brilliantly over the last year at U17's level and were heavily involved with the U20's towards the end of the season.

Head of Youth, Stephen Wright expanded upon the qualities of the new signiongs:-

"Ryan plays right back and loves to join in the play and get forward, he scored a few goals this season at U17's after starting and ending the move from the right back area. Gavin is an attacking player who likes to play on the left, although is predominantly right footed. He is a strong, fit and very committed young player and can play another year at U17's. I'm hoping these two young players will continue to fulfil their potential and play a big part in the future of Dunfermline Athletic over the coming years."

Ryan Williamson signs up

Ryan is the son of ex Par Andy Williamson and has been at the Club for three years and over this time has been very consistent. This year he has done very well at right back and played in a number of U20's matches. The seventeen year old started off playing football at Rothes Juniors Boys Club from age 8 to 12. He then spent two years at Celtic before coming to Dunfermline at U14 level.
Gavin who will still be eligible to play in U17s next season has been at the Club for 6 years and has matured very well into an attacking midfielder. The former Inverkeithing High School pupil has also featured with the U20's this season.  Joined Dunfermline at U10 level from East End Swifts.
